ECHINACEA - Coneflowers

This is one great perennial and can be found in several of our gardens at the Arboretum.  It blooms from summer into fall.  It is drought tolerant.  It prefers full sun, but will tolerate a little shade.  It needs well-drained soil and does not want soggy soil.  Goldfinches will feast on the seedheads if left standing in the fall.

Here are some varieties you will see here:
Echinacea purpurea 'Magnus'

Echinacea purpurea 'Hot Papaya'

Echinacea  BIG SKY 'Sunrise' and 'Sundown'
