WINTER PLANTS OF INTEREST

On a very, cold windy day, MGV Joan steadfastly roamed the Arboretum gardens to select ten plants to display. Here is what she found:

1. Woodwardia areolata (Netted Chain Fern)

2. Ilex serrata x verticillata 'Sparkleberry' (Winterberry Holly)

3. Helleborus x ericsmithii 'Shooting Star' ( Lenten Rose)

4. Nandina domestica 'Seika' Obession

5. Ilex x 'Mary Nell' (Holly)

6. Scutellaria multiglandulosa (Small's Skullcap)

7. Foeniculum vulgare (Bronze Fennel)

8. Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary)

9. Jasminum nudiflorum (Winter Jasmine)

10. Mahonia baelei (Leatherleaf Mahonia)

FRIENDS OF THE PITT COUNTY ARBORETUM

To help support and expand our beautiful Arboretum and to strengthen our teaching, demonstration, and outreach programs, become a Friend of the Arboretum. Started in 2002, the nonprofit Friends organization plays a critical role in preserving and perpetuating an important local cultural resource.
