WALKING TOUR OF PITT COUNTY ARBORETUM

Join the Master Gardeners for a free Walking Tour of the Arboretum this Thursday, August 1st starting at 9 AM.  Meet under the shelter in front of the Ag Center at 403 Government Circle in Greenville (CLICK HERE FOR MAP)

How is your vegetable garden growing?  Master Gardeners continue to harvest a variety of produce from the Arboretum's Vegetable Garden.  All produce is donated to the Greenville Food Bank.  Do you wonder when is the right time to pick your vegetables?  Check out this publication for some guidelines:

ECHINACEA - Coneflowers

This is one great perennial and can be found in several of our gardens at the Arboretum.  It blooms from summer into fall.  It is drought tolerant.  It prefers full sun, but will tolerate a little shade.  It needs well-drained soil and does not want soggy soil.  Goldfinches will feast on the seedheads if left standing in the fall.
